Due to continued business growth in 2026, Interventek is launching a second round of recruitment to further expand its design and engineering teams. These openings are full‑time and based at the company's head office in Aberdeen. Interventek is an innovative subsea engineering business focused on developing state‑of‑the‑art well access systems for the upstream oil and gas sector. Job Summary

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate design project activities to ensure that objectives are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and funding parameters.
  • Establish workplans and personnel requirements for project activities.
  • Prepare status reports and schedules and act as the technical contact point for external clients.

Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills Required

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Other qualifications may be accepted depending on experience.
  • Experience as a junior design engineer (or equivalent) in a product design environment preferred.
  • Experience with pressure control equipment or relevant alternative equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Solidworks (alternative 3D CAD software knowledge may be accepted depending on experience).
  • Proficient in the development and implementation of design procedures and processes.
  • Proficient in all methods of communication (verbal, written & presentation).
  • Self‑motivated and ability to work alone unsupervised.
  • Effective member of a team.
  • Ability to produce innovative design concepts in a short timescale which meet the requirements set.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate conceptual designs or customise existing designs for proposals/projects from customer or internally generated specifications.
  • Verify design where necessary using classical analysis techniques (bending, buckling, shear, bearing and pressure vessel) for inclusion in product design files and Product Design Documentation.
  • Present designs to engineering staff during internal design reviews.
  • Generate equipment assembly, test, FAT, handling, storage, rework, maintenance and commissioning procedures as required.
  • Provide necessary support to the various internal departments (manufacturing, shop, planning, QA, commercial, purchasing, assembly etc.) as equipment is progressed through the facility.
  • Develop more junior members of department through technical coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensure accurate recording of work time and duties to allow tracking of departmental expenditure.
  • To work at all times to the Company’s Quality Management System and in a safe, responsible and cost effective manner.
