This is a remote position based in a South America region on a full-time, onsite basis with a full relocation package provided, including a pension scheme and excellent annual leave benefits. Our client will also consider professionals with a strong oil and gas HSE background for the position if they are working hybrid, with regular visits to the South American country.
We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join a dedicated regulatory team overseeing offshore petroleum activities. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of safety protocols and ensuring that operators adhere to approved safety standards. This position is available as a 2 year fixed term contract.
Responsibilities:- Manage the review and verification of safety cases for offshore installations and well operations.
- Lead a team of inspectors to ensure comprehensive coverage of all offshore assets.
- Conduct detailed investigations into incidents or near-misses, providing technical recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor industry trends to ensure local safety regulations remain aligned with global best practices.
- Coordinate with environmental counterparts to ensure a holistic approach to offshore risk management.
- Significant experience in H&S management within the offshore oil and gas sector.
- Deep technical knowledge of safety case regulations and risk assessment methodologies.
- Previous experience working within or alongside a regulatory body is highly desirable.
- Degree-level qualification in an engineering or safety-related discipline.
- Excellent report-writing skills and attention to detail.
