Are you an HV Commissioning Engineer who thrives on complex projects, technical ownership, and getting systems over the line safely and reliably? I’m supporting a growing energy & infrastructure organisation that’s expanding its HV delivery capability across England and they’re looking for a strong HV Commissioning Engineer to join the team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead commissioning activities across HV infrastructure (11kV–132kV), ensuring safe energisation and successful integration into the network.
  • Oversee end-to-end testing, inspection and signing-off of protection schemes, switchgear, transformers and associated HV plant.
  • Work closely with construction, design, DNO / IDNO and EPC teams to ensure compliance and timely delivery.
  • Produce commissioning documentation, reports and safety records to industry standards.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure all works meet relevant regulations (ENA, CDM, G99 / G100 etc.).

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong background commissioning HV systems (minimum 11kV).
  • Experience working on grid connections, substations, BESS / solar / wind projects, utilities or IDNO / DNO environments.
  • Solid understanding of protection schemes, SCADA, primary and secondary systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret and validate technical drawings, HV schematics and commissioning plans.
  • Comfortable working on live sites with a proactive approach to safety and quality.

Nice to have:

  • Authorisations with a DNO or IDNO (not essential).
  • Experience with new connections, private networks, BESS or renewable infrastructure.
  • Protection testing experience (OMICRON, Megger etc.).
