We’re supporting a growing infrastructure business delivering EV charging and utility projects across the UK, who are now looking to appoint a Pre-Construction Manager to help strengthen their project delivery function. This role is ideal for someone who understands the early-stage lifecycle of EV charging infrastructure projects and has strong knowledge of ICP / utility connection processes, ensuring projects are fully compliant, commercially viable, and technically ready before entering construction.
You’ll sit between design, delivery, utilities, and commercial teams, helping drive projects through pre-construction while identifying and resolving risks early.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage pre-construction activities across EV charging and utility infrastructure projects
- Coordinate with DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs, designers, local authorities, and delivery teams
- Review project viability, technical compliance, and construction readiness
- Support utility applications, POCs, design approvals, and energisation processes
- Ensure projects meet H&S, regulatory, and client compliance requirements prior to build
- Identify programme risks, design clashes, permitting challenges, and delivery constraints early
- Support project costing, planning, procurement, and mobilisation activities
- Work closely with internal engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth handover into delivery
- Experience within EV charging, utilities, ICP, or electrical infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of DNO / IDNO / ICP processes and utility connections
- Knowledge of pre-construction, planning, permitting, and compliance requirements
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders across infrastructure projects
- Commercial awareness alongside technical understanding
- Ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple live projects
- Understanding of LV/HV infrastructure projects would be highly beneficial
