An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced QHSE Manager to join a fast growing infrastructure and engineering business operating across the UK. This is a role where you will take ownership of the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental function, shaping strategy, driving continuous improvement, and embedding a positive safety and quality culture across the organisation.

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will have the autonomy to develop and evolve the company's management systems, influence business decisions, and play a key role in supporting the organisation's continued growth. This position would suit a proactive QHSE professional who enjoys building processes, influencing stakeholders, and operating in a dynamic environment where they can make a visible impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the QHSE function across the business.
  • Develop and implement QHSE strategy, policies, procedures and improvement plans.
  • Maintain and enhance Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Provide expert guidance on all QHSE matters to operational and leadership teams.
  • Lead internal and external audit programmes and manage certification processes.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, standards and industry best practice.
  • Conduct investigations into incidents, near misses and non-conformances, ensuring lessons learned are implemented.
  • Drive risk assessment activities across operational, engineering and project environments.
  • Deliver QHSE training, coaching and awareness initiatives.
  • Produce meaningful performance data, reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Support business continuity planning and emergency response preparedness.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and operational excellence.
About You:
  • Significant experience within a QHSE position.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and IOSH membership.
  • Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001.
  • Strong understanding of UK health & safety and environmental legislation.
  • Experience leading management systems, audits and certification programmes.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and influencing at all levels of an organisation.
  • Proven ability to present complex information to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience within engineering, construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy or related technical environments would be advantageous.
