About the Role: Join a leading renewable energy developer as a PV Design Engineering Manager and play a critical role in shaping the future of solar energy projects. You will lead a talented design engineering team and deliver cutting-edge solar PV designs that meet technical, regulatory, and environmental requirements. This position is an integral part of the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Generation Team, responsible for managing solar projects from concept through to operation. Key Responsibilities: – Lead and manage the design engineering activities for solar PV projects across their lifecycle, ensuring innovative, efficient, and compliant solutions. – Conduct complex site assessments and feasibility studies to optimise project design and energy production. – Develop technical specifications, solar yield assessments, design layouts, and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) to drive project success. – Oversee the review and approval of designs, documentation, and contractor outputs, ensuring alignment with industry best practices. – Foster a collaborative culture, providing mentorship and technical support to team members while promoting health, safety, and quality standards. – Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and industry bodies, to enhance project delivery and maintain strong relationships. Qualifications & Experience: – Proven experience in solar PV design, with a focus on large-scale (>10MWp) ground-mount projects. – Proficiency with design software such as PVSyst, PVSol, Helioscope, SAM, AutoCAD, or equivalent. – Strong knowledge of photovoltaic technology, system components, and industry standards. – Demonstrated leadership experience in engineering management, including upskilling teams and providing technical oversight. – Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. – Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a strong commitment to safety and quality. Preferred Experience: – Experience in rooftop and carport solar PV design. – Knowledge of electrical system design, including HV and grid integration.
