We’re partnering with a well established solar asset operator undergoing a major scale up across their UK field teams. As part of this, we’re helping them appoint a Solar Team Lead to oversee a team of engineers and operatives maintaining utility scale solar farms across the South Central region. This role blends hands on technical work with team leadership, ideal for someone looking to step into a more strategic and people focused position while staying close to the tech.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead and line manage a team of field engineers and operatives (performance reviews, training plans, scheduling)
- Support and supervise planned and corrective maintenance across multiple solar sites
- Carry out site visits and own site-level H&S compliance, including risk assessments and method statements
- Provide technical input on diagnostics, LV/HV systems, inverters, CCTV systems, and remote monitoring setups
- Assist with onboarding, tooling, holiday/overtime approvals and overall operational planning in your region
What You’ll Need
- 3+ years experience in utility scale solar O&M
- City & Guilds 2399-13/14, 2391-52 and SSSTS/SMSTS (or equivalent)
- Solid background in LV/HV maintenance, fault finding and system testing
- Familiarity with inverter technologies (central/string), G59/G99 protection, and comms diagnostics
- Previous experience managing field teams or leading site-level operations
- Strong documentation and computer skills, CMMS, MS Office, and reporting tools
