Are you ready to drive commercial growth in onsite energy and accelerate the UK’s transition to net zero? We’re looking for a Business Development Director to lead the growth of onsite energy solutions across the UK. This is a senior commercial leadership role focused on building a strong pipeline, shaping complex client sales cycles, and leading a high-performing team.

This role would suit someone with a strong background in C&I solar, battery storage (BESS), private wire, corporate PPAs, or energy solutions who thrives on building relationships and closing strategic opportunities.

The Opportunity

  • Build and convert a strong pipeline of onsite energy opportunities
  • Lead client sales cycles from first engagement through to investment decision
  • Develop long term relationships with commercial & industrial customers
  • Lead and mentor a growing sales/opportunity development team
  • Shape commercial strategy based on market trends, policy changes and customer demand
  • Work closely with delivery and asset teams to ensure successful project execution

This is a highly visible role with genuine influence over growth strategy.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven track record in senior business development or commercial leadership
  • Strong experience within onsite energy, C&I solar, battery storage or energy solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and achieve ambitious sales targets
  • Experience leading and inspiring sales teams
  • Strong understanding of UK energy market dynamics and policy landscape
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical and data driven approach to commercial decision making
  • Degree qualified (business, engineering, renewable energy or related field preferred)
