You will have experience in working with ultrasonics and be educated with either basic engineering and/or an NDT background. You are confident working with ultrasonic inspection techniques and enjoy applying your knowledge in a workshop or laboratory environment. You will be a strong team player who is able to work at pace and meet timeframes. You take pride in accurate, methodical work and are motivated to grow your career within a supportive and expanding business. The opportunity will require a flexible attitude towards working hours.
Required skills and experience:
- Hold Ultrasonic Qualifications (NAS410 or PCN)
- Basic Engineering experience and/or a background in Non-Destructive Testing
- Good understanding of mathematical formulae
- Experience working within a team
- Computer literate
- Flexible work attitude (Shifts & weekends required)
About the opportunity:
Due to successful growth of the business, we are now looking for an Ultrasonic Immersion Technician to join our thriving team based at Victory Park in Derby. The chosen candidate will be part of a well-established team and be expected to work precisely to techniques and procedures to complete inspections and generate reports. You will receive training for the role to build on your existing knowledge and experience. This is a permanent full-time opportunity where the role holder will be required to work shifts consisting of mornings (06:00-14:00), afternoons (14:00-22:00) & nights (22:00-06:00).
Key activities:
- Operation of Ultrasonic Immersion Systems to carry out scans of components
- Performing system/process control checks
- Testing method/technique development
- 1000 Gate Inspections
- Test report generation
- Close customer liaison and relationship building
