This is an important and exciting opportunity as Intertek aims to grow its engineering team to meet market requirements. The key purpose of this role is to complete electrical safety evaluations for Intertek’s global clients. Working within the UK team, the senior test engineer will evaluate products and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards. The role also involves providing technical support to operations, sales, and marketing departments. Required skills and experience: Good IT skills, including experience with Excel, Word, and data retention systems Experience working within a Quality Management System Attention to detail and ability to interpret standards Ability to make independent technical decisions and judgments Effective communication skills with clients and team members Background in product safety testing, grid code, inverters, EV charging, BESS, energy storage Knowledge of electrical safety standards such as IEC/EN 50549, UL 1741 SA, IEEE 1547, 60335, 62368, 60730 Experience with certification schemes and country-specific requirements Experience in safety-critical design, electrical product development, grid compliance, high voltage systems Experience generating test reports for certification Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory Experience with Yokogawa or similar data acquisition tools, analyzers, AC/DC simulators, RLC load banks, and communication interfaces About the Opportunity Key activities include: Assessing training needs and developing training programs for technical staff Providing ongoing technical support and guidance Preparing quotes for standards and complex projects Researching new standards and technologies Supporting accreditation activities and audits Managing projects and capital expenditures Reviewing technical documentation and test plans Providing project updates and technical support Training engineering teams Supporting internal and external audits Completing and reviewing test reports Attending customer meetings What We Offer Join Intertek and be part of a global network of inspiring colleagues.
