Overview
This role will provide you with the opportunity to grow your skills within a closely monitored environment and gain experience of a wide variety of techniques.
Responsibilities
- Trained in practical aspects of multiple techniques, competent to generate useful data and to recognise artefacts, and raise these to a supervisor with some ideas of likely causes/investigation steps.
- Experience of performing laboratory investigations.
- Able to follow a variety of complex methods requiring significant interpretation or deviation from established practices.
- Exposure to clients\’ products and processes, able to work in front of clients with support.
- Problem-solving capability and \”can do\” attitude.
- Occasional communication directly with clients with standard requests but work normally assigned through Laboratory Manager/Project Manager/Team Leader.
- Competent to plan their own time over extended periods, meeting agreed deadlines and keeping a good level of communication to stakeholders.
- Interest in activities outside of the main role e.g. training or SOP writing.
- Primarily the role will work as an integral part of the Technical Team within the Laboratory. On a daily basis you will have the ability to carry out duties including preparation and analysis of samples using a variety of analytical techniques, IT literate.
- Strong numeracy skills with the knowledge of calculating and tabulating results.
- Clear written and verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly convey processes, results and key messages and able to build rapport, quickly and effectively.
- Knowledge and application of appropriate systems and procedures relevant to scientific and analytical methodologies, required regulatory standards, research/regulatory procedures and instructions.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, laboratory performance standards, handling chemicals, COSHH.
Qualifications
- Degree level required within relevant science or hold significant experience which has been obtained within a scientific or industry setting.
- Some previous experience in a similar role working in a laboratory environment
- Customer Focused.
- Good knowledge of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry and experience of GxP.
