We're looking for a Marine Environmental Consultant to lead and contribute to a broad spectrum of environmental studies, including EIA, SEA and HRA. Working across subsea cables, offshore renewables and oil and gas, you'll help shape sustainable solutions that drive responsible development and accelerate the move to a low-carbon future.
This role requires well-developed technical expertise and experience in permitting and consenting processes, as well as excellent project management skills. There is the potential to develop the role to include and support new products and services in the marine sector to meet the increasing global demand for sustainable energy solutions.
Required skills and experience:- Degree/Masters in a relevant discipline (environmental sciences or similar)
- Skilled in ornithology, underwater sound, marine ecology, marine mammals or fish and shellfish assessments
- Considerable experience in a relevant sector (i.e. subsea cables, offshore renewables, oil and gas)
- Demonstrable track record in technical leadership of project teams
- Demonstrable experience delivering consenting and environmental assessment solutions in the marine energy / industry sectors
- Experience in preparing successful tender submissions and proposals
- Strong technical, analytical, organisational and communication skills.
The role will involve undertaking and managing a wide range of environmental studies, including EIA, SEA and HRA. It will be varied, across a portfolio of projects and sectors including subsea cables, offshore renewables, and oil and gas - ensuring consultancy solutions that are sustainable, as we transition to a low carbon future.
Key activities:- There is the potential to develop the role to include and support new products and services for this sector as they move towards a low-carbon future.
- There is also the potential to work within other areas of Intertek's work stream, including renewable energy and wider marine consenting projects.
- This role provides an opportunity to engage and develop in all aspects of consultancy services from specialist technical support, through business development, to staff development, providing a great chance to advance your career and take it to the next level.
- Liaise with others inside/outside the department proactively and re-actively to provide or obtain information to keep people informed so that work is completed effectively.
- Build relationships and contacts to facilitate the future exchange of information.
