About the opportunity:
Due to continued growth, we now have an exciting opportunity to support our operations at the petrochemical terminal at the Fawley Refinery. As a Sampler, you will primarily be supporting the terminal with drawing day-to-day samples, transportation and booking in, along with providing support to Cargo Inspectors during cargo commodity-related inspection services, performing sampling and volume/temperature measurements to ensure that the customer receives an independent, accurate, and complete assessment of quantity and quality of materials during transportation.
Key activities:
- To carry out water draw procedures on Jet Fuel storage tanks.
- Gauging and sampling shore tanks in accordance with API, IP, company or other procedures.
- Carrying out sampling duties using approved techniques as directed by the Operations Manager, travelling to and from client facilities as required, and transporting samples in compliance with road traffic and local site regulations at all times.
- Performing water draw-off on Jet fuel storage tanks as per client instructions.
- Ensuring all work carried out follows the agreed procedures as set out in the local Management system.
- Advising client facility Supervisors of operational or QHSE issues that arise during sampling activities and informing the QHSE Manager of any such action as soon as practical.
- Logging samples into client laboratory system.
- Undertaking any additional miscellaneous duties, as directed by the Operations Manager.
- Providing cover for absence both on shifts and during normal working hours in agreement with the Operations Manager.
- Measurement and calculation of shore oil storage before and after transfer.
- Shore sampling for quality analysis using approved techniques.
