As Arable Schemes Technical Manager, you will work effectively with Standard Owners, Auditors, Farmers and Support Staff, delivering the highest quality service, relationship management and technical support. You will be passionate about farm assurance, assisting farmers and growers in their certification journey! This is a great opportunity that involves working with some great customers and being part of a growing team!

Required skills and experience:

  • Formal qualification preferred
  • Red Tractor and ancillary schemes academy training with successful outcomes desirable
  • Agricultural and/or Allied Industry experience
  • Experienced certifier & or farm assessor desirable
  • Approved witness assessor desirable
  • Practical farm experience
  • Experience of delivering training desirable
  • Good IT literacy skills
  • Excellent communication skills

About the opportunity:

The position involves completion and monitoring of certification, and being able to make certification decisions; including suspension and withdrawal management in line with company and accreditation process. The role includes being part of a dynamic and active team, dedicated to providing a top-quality service to British Farmers, Customers and our Standard Owners.

Key activities:

  • Communicating and assisting with Customer and Farmer technical queries in relation to the arable schemes in a timely manner
  • Provide technical support for all Agri staff in field and our client services team in a timely manner
  • Assist the field team in creating a highly trained, skilled and competent assessor pool for the arable work
  • Assist in certification for the Red Tractor Combinable Crops Schemes, LEAF and other Red Tractor or combined schemes you are skilled in along with bolt-ons in this area
  • Ensuring relationship, KPI’s and financial management of these schemes are key focuses
  • Liaising and communicating with Red Tractor and standard owner personnel in line with relevant protocol timelines and process
  • Where required this role may involve the need to travel, stay away or undertake additional hours to enable completion of key tasks and scheme responsibilities
