PROJECT MANAGEMENT EXECUTIVE
Given our continued success, we are actively seeking a Project Management Executive to join our growing team and support the successful delivery of client projects within our pharmaceutical and analytical sciences business.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a scientific background who is looking to develop a career in project management. You will work closely with experienced Project Managers, laboratory teams and clients, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle while developing your commercial, technical and stakeholder management skills.
ABOUT YOU
The position requires a highly organised and proactive individual who enjoys building relationships, coordinating activities and delivering excellent customer service.
You may already have experience in a laboratory, scientific or customer-facing environment and be looking for your next challenge, or you may be a recent graduate with strong communication skills and a desire to move into project management.
We are looking for someone with the right attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn, who can confidently communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required skills and experience:
- Educated to degree level in a scientific discipline (Chemistry or related subject preferred)
- Experience working within a laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or scientific environment would be advantageous
- Understanding of analytical chemistry techniques such as HPLC or LCMS would be beneficial
- Knowledge of GMP or regulated laboratory environments would be advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Positive attitude with a genuine desire to learn and develop
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Project Management Executive, you will support the delivery of client projects from initiation through to completion, acting as a key link between laboratory teams and clients.
Working alongside experienced Project Managers, you will learn how to coordinate project activities, communicate progress updates, monitor timelines and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
Whether you are looking to move away from a laboratory-based role or take the first step into project management, this position offers a clear development pathway. You will receive support and mentoring from an experienced team, with opportunities to progress into Project Manager and Senior Project Manager roles as you build your expertise and confidence.
Key activities:
- Support the management and coordination of client projects throughout the project lifecycle
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external clients
- Assist with project planning, scheduling and tracking activities
- Coordinate project documentation and project-related administration
- Support the preparation and review of scientific plans, reports and client communications
- Monitor project progress and escalate risks or issues where appropriate
- Organise project meetings and maintain action logs, meeting minutes and project records
- Provide clients with regular project updates and status reports
- Work closely with laboratory teams to ensure project milestones are achieved
- Develop an understanding of analytical testing programmes and the wider drug development process
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the project management function
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
