We are looking for a proactive Building Supervisor/Yard Person with proven experience in overseeing daily building operations, including maintenance and facilities management. A solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations is essential.
Required skills and experience:
- Good verbal and communication skills
- Fully UK Driving licence
- Building maintenance and asset management
- Facilities operations and space management
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and compliance
- Risk assessment and incident management
- Contractor and vendor management
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Sustainability and energy management
- Good IT literacy skills (MS Office/Excel/Word)
Key activities:
- Supervise and organise any building work carried out onsite
- Ordering, handling and replacing gases for the laboratory when required
- Ordering, handling and replacing solvent drums when required
- Liaise with couriers to dispatch samples from the laboratory
- Maintaining the sample retention stores in good working order
- Assist in sample collections when required
- Assisting your line manager in the selection and recruitment of new staff
- Liaise with approved waste collection contractors to dispose of samples and other waste produced onsite
- Supervise building work carried out on site, ensuring contractors comply with company procedures and the provisions of Health and Safety regulations
