Required skills and experience:

  • Strong IT literacy skills – Microsoft office and systems/reporting tools

  • Driven and energized – can work independently

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Knowing when and how to communicate clearly at different levels of seniority

  • Can provide evidence of working in a fast-paced working environment

  • Demonstrates a high level of personal organisation and time management to ensure deadlines are met

  • Textile testing background is a big advantage

  • Experience of TIC industry or working within retailers is beneficial but not essential.

  • Experience of textiles/Toys would be an advantage

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an exciting opportunity to join Intertek as a Retail Embedded Support, working directly with a major retailer across Softlines and Hardlines products. You will act as a key point of contact for the retailer’s Head Office teams, providing day-to-day support across product quality, standards, testing and inspection. Working closely with the retailer, Intertek Account Manager, Embedded Support team and Technical colleagues, you will help coordinate requests, manage testing and inspection bookings, respond to queries and ensure key projects and programmes are delivered within agreed timescales.

Key activities:

  • Being the lead focal point for queries from the retailer’s head office staff

  • Working with both Intertek and the retailer systems.

  • Fielding enquiries, progress chasing and general assistance to the Buying and Technical teams

  • Working with Intertek’s Account Manager, Embedded Support team and Technical colleagues to help the retailer with areas of product quality and standards

  • Participate in and facilitate communication between the retailer and the wider Intertek network to ensure key projects and programmes are delivered within agreed timelines.

  • Updating and reviewing quality manual and quality specifications and introducing best working practices

  • Produces reports on KPIs and highlights any trends and recommends areas to deliver continuous improvement – in a timely manner

  • Facilitating Testing and Inspection requests and bookings

  • Dealing with requests for information in a timely manner from the retailer and Intertek's colleagues by acting as a central point of contact

  • Promoting Intertek services and all best practices possible within the retailer’s team
