Required skills and experience:
Good IT literacy skills
Knowledge of chemistry, with A-level qualifications or above and preferably experience in analytical instrumentation
Ability to follow standard operating procedures, in accordance with company policies and established methodologies

Ability to work with the team and to contribute ideas and innovation at meetings to meet budget and business demands

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team based in Greys, West Thurrock. You will perform sample preparation and extraction for analysis of petroleum products, following strict method guidelines. This is a shift position and will require you to work on a shift rota which includes 7am to 7pm for two days, then 7pm to 7am for two days, then 4 days off.
Key activities:
Testing a variety of petroleum products to ASTM and IP test methods
Preparing and testing sample blends as requested by customers
To prepare and test quality control samples, to standardise reagents and solutions and calibrate equipment as needed for the testing process
