As a Technical Expert, Intertek is recruiting for an experienced and credible scientific professional to act as a senior technical authority within our expanding pharma services function. This is a commercially focused role, supporting Business Development and operational teams through technical expertise rather than laboratory-based activity.
You will bring deep technical knowledge and the ability to translate complex science into clear, commercially relevant solutions, supporting client discussions, project scoping, and proposal development. This role offers a high level of autonomy and influence, with recognition based on technical credibility, stakeholder impact, and contribution to commercial success.
Required skills and experience:
- Strong technical or scientific background with clear pharmaceutical industry experience
- Demonstrable expertise in LC-MS/MS bioanalysis or a closely related regulated laboratory discipline
- Ability to clearly explain complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable supporting client-facing discussions, feasibility assessments, and technical scoping
- Commercial awareness with understanding of budgets, timelines, and project feasibility
- Strong interpersonal skills with confidence working across multiple stakeholders and senior teams
- Experience working within CRO or CDMO environments (preferred)
- Clear understanding of GxP standards, quality systems, and regulated laboratory environments
- UK-based with flexibility to travel to Intertek sites when required
About the opportunity:
In this role, you will operate as a trusted technical authority, supporting both internal teams and external clients through expert input into technical discussions and decision-making. You will work closely with Business Development teams during client engagement, ensuring technical credibility throughout proposal development and programme scoping, while also supporting operational teams with complex scientific queries.
