ABOUT YOU: You are a detail-focused calibration professional with experience in a UKAS lab or offshore setting. You bring strong technical skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high QHSE standards. A collaborative team player, you communicate effectively, solve problems confidently, and are committed to delivering excellent service.

Required skills and experience:

  • National Certificate in related subject and/or minimum 2 years' experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory or an offshore environment.
  • Exceptional communications skills to lead, motivate and develop the section, with the ability to adapt communication style to audience.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to interact with clients and colleagues at all levels in a professional manner at all times.
  • Willing to be "hands on" working at all levels.
  • A positive attitude.
  • Good problem identification and solving skills.
  • Proficient in computer programs such as MS Office.
  • Awareness of business and client requirements and expectations.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a hands-on role working across laboratory and offshore environments, offering exposure to a range of calibration disciplines. You'll be part of a supportive team focused on quality, performance, and continuous improvement, with opportunities to develop your skills while contributing to excellent client outcomes.

  • Ensure that the daily workload is performed efficiently and effectively within agreed turnaround times, in accordance with both approved technical standards and client instructions as well as our Intertek Total Quality standards.
  • Assist team members to ensure consistent performance.
  • Assist with the training of team members in relation to jobs to be undertaken.
  • Assist any team member troubleshooting equipment problems.
  • Assist the Technical Manager (TM) in updating calibration procedures.
  • Deliver high standards of service to clients, seeking continuous improvement in a drive for excellence and be a positive company representative to customers as well as colleagues.
  • Encourage the team to follow processes smoothly and efficiently, giving feedback where appropriate.
  • Act as a representative of the company both internally and externally while communicating with clients and professional/technical bodies.
  • Compile, report and take action based on the team KPIs, feeding back areas of success and improvement to the management team.
  • Actively drive team performance using the team KPIs (such as turnaround times) to focus workload priorities in order to exceed our customer expectations.
