The Opportunity: We’re hiring a Coating/Painting Inspector to support the Liverpool Bay CCS Transport and Storage Project. In this role, you’ll inspect surface preparation and application of protective coatings across structural and mechanical components, ensuring compliance with international standards and project specifications. You’ll work closely with contractors and QA teams to uphold the performance, longevity, and safety of critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and supervise surface preparation, painting, and insulation of structural steel, piping, valves, and equipment
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards (e.g., ISO, SSPC, NACE)
- Monitor environmental conditions during application and curing (e.g., humidity, dew point, temperature)
- Verify proper storage, certification, and use of coating materials and consumables
- Review ITPs, coating procedures, and QA documentation
- Witness and document coating thickness, adhesion, and holiday testing
- Identify and report deviations, issue punch lists, and maintain detailed inspection records
- Collaborate with contractors and resolve technical quality issues
- Support final handover activities and participate in walkdowns
Who We’re Looking For:
- Experienced in coating and painting inspection for oil & gas or industrial infrastructure
- NACE Coating Inspector Level II or higher, OR FROSIO Painting Inspector Level II or higher, OR Equivalent certification (subject to Eni’s acceptance)
- Familiar with ISO 8501, ISO 12944, SSPC, NACE, ASTM standards
- Skilled in reviewing technical documentation and interpreting test results
- Strong attention to detail and report writing skills
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
