Intertek is offering an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, where you will inspect vessels and shore terminals to verify cargo quantity and quality, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client and regulatory standards. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding our clients interests, facilitating seamless cargo operations, and upholding our commitment to safety and quality.
About You
You will ideally have seafaring experience or a background in terminal, LNG, refinery, or bulk liquids operations. You are comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including climbing tanks and ship gangways, and you hold a valid UK driving licence with the right to work in the UK. You are a confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with clients, vessel crews, and terminal staff, and capable of working independently to meet deadlines. Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, email) are essential.

About the Opportunity
In this role, you will attend vessels and shore terminals to oversee cargo operations, ensuring that loading and discharge processes meet client specifications and regulatory standards. You will perform accurate measurements, sampling, and reporting, identify and escalate any discrepancies, and maintain constant communication with clients to provide real-time operational feedback.
Key Activities
Execute daily operations in line with company policies and procedures
Verify cargo and custody transfers through measurement, sampling, and reporting
Analyse discrepancies and issue investigation or loss control reports as required
Liaise with vessel and terminal personnel to minimise delays and protect client interests
Issue protests when required to highlight operational concerns
Produce accurate final quantity reports
Follow up on nominations, tankage availability, and cargo readiness
Mentor and support junior operations personnel, including competency assessments
Assist with maintenance of QA management systems and training compliance
Actively participate in safety tours, toolbox talks, and QHSE training
