As a Technical Expert, Intertek is recruiting for an experienced and credible scientific professional to act as a senior technical authority within our expanding pharma services function. This is a scientific and commercially focused role, supporting operational teams through technical expertise and Business Development activity.
You will bring deep technical knowledge and the ability to translate complex science into clear, commercially relevant solutions, supporting client discussions, project scoping, proposal development and providing technical oversight of the project lifecycle. This role offers a high level of autonomy and influence, with recognition based on technical credibility, stakeholder impact, and contribution to commercial success. The role will predominantly support bioanalysis in Intertek’s laboratory based in Manchester, UK.
Required skills and experience:- Strong technical or scientific background with clear pharmaceutical industry experience
- Demonstrable expertise in LC-MS/MS bioanalysis or a closely related regulated laboratory discipline
- Expertise in Pharmacokinetic analysis and ICH M10 Method Validation for large and small molecules, ideally spanning multiple product types (e.g., including some of the following: Antibodies, ADC’s, oligonucleotides, small molecules) in a range of matrices.
- Ability to clearly explain complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable supporting client-facing discussions, feasibility assessments, and technical scoping
- Commercial awareness with understanding of budgets, timelines, and project feasibility
- Strong interpersonal skills with confidence working across multiple stakeholders and senior teams
- Experience working within CRO or CDMO environments (preferred)
- Clear understanding of GxP standards, quality systems, and regulated laboratory environments
In this role, you will operate as a trusted technical authority, supporting both internal teams and external clients through expert input into technical discussions and decision-making. You will work closely with Business Development teams during client engagement, ensuring technical credibility throughout proposal development and programme scoping for new opportunities, while also supporting operational teams with complex scientific queries and review of plans, data and reports.
