Analyst (Grade 2) – Aberdeen, Bridge of Don

The Opportunity:

We\’re hiring an Analyst (Grade 2) to join our dynamic Exploration & Production (E&P) team in Aberdeen. This is a hands-on laboratory role, ideal for someone with experience in analytical testing and a passion for mentoring others. You’ll conduct sample testing, perform equipment calibrations, and contribute to the day-to-day operations of our lab—all while leading by example and supporting your junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test a range of crude, petroleum, gas, and water samples to ASTM, IP, and in-house standards.
  • Support junior analysts through technical guidance and on-the-job training.
  • Prepare and proofread analytical reports for customer release.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support method development, validation work, and new project activity.
  • Drive a strong QHSE culture, report non-conformances, and uphold ISO and UKAS standards.
  • Assist in customer interactions, NPS feedback calls, and identifying commercial upsell opportunities.
  • Perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving samples or equipment
  • Occasionally support offshore or client site work as needed.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Science-based qualification (HND or above) or equivalent lab experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in a UKAS-accredited lab preferred.
  • Comfortable mentoring peers and driving high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong IT literacy and confident in using data systems.
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and team-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
