Given our continued growth, we are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Scientific Report Writer to join our Scientific Writing Team based in Melbourn, Cambridgeshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with exceptional written communication skills, strong attention to detail and excellent IT literacy to build a rewarding career within a leading pharmaceutical testing environment.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will play a key role in producing high-quality scientific reports that support a wide variety of client programmes, including validation studies, stability studies and IVBE studies. You'll gain exposure to many different scientific disciplines and work closely with laboratory scientists, project teams and clients across the business.
About You
We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment and enjoys producing accurate, well-presented documentation. Whether you already have experience writing scientific or technical documents within a regulated environment, or you're a science graduate with exceptional written communication skills and a keen eye for detail, we'd love to hear from you. Required skills and experience
- Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline is preferred, although equivalent experience will also be considered
- Experience of writing, reviewing or proofreading technical or scientific documentation
- Experience working within a GMP, GxP or regulated laboratory environment would be advantageous
- Excellent written English with outstanding grammar, punctuation and attention to detail
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to interpret technical documents, analytical methods and scientific data
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships across multiple departments
- Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn and continuously improve
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional levels of accuracy
About the opportunity
As a Scientific Report Writer, you'll be responsible for compiling scientific data from a wide range of client projects into clear, accurate and professionally formatted reports that meet regulatory requirements and client expectations. You’ll work closely with laboratory scientists, project managers and quality teams to ensure reports are completed accurately and delivered on time. Alongside authoring reports, you’ll also peer review documentation prepared by colleagues, helping maintain the consistently high standards expected by both our clients and regulatory authorities. This role offers excellent exposure to a broad range of pharmaceutical testing programmes and provides an excellent opportunity to develop your scientific knowledge while working with teams across the business.
Key activities
- Produce high-quality scientific reports for a variety of client projects
- Compile and present study data into consistent final report formats
- Peer review reports and supporting documentation prepared by colleagues
- Review study data to ensure report accuracy and completeness
- Work closely with laboratory and project teams to obtain information required for reporting
- Build effective working relationships across multiple departments
- Ensure reports comply with internal procedures, GxP requirements and quality standards
- Identify, communicate and escalate any issues identified during the reporting process
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Scientific Writing Team
- Deliver reports accurately and within agreed timelines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
