About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician to work within our client’s specialist component testing facility in Bristol. This hands-on role plays a key part in supporting the quality assurance and manufacturing processes of advanced gas turbine engine components used within a highly regulated engineering environment. Working as part of a skilled technical team, you will carry out a range of testing and inspection activities on turbine engine components, ensuring products meet strict quality and performance standards. The position offers exposure to bespoke testing equipment, precision measurement techniques, and practical problem-solving within a fast-paced laboratory setting.
Key Activities
- Preparation and testing of predominantly turbine components to determine flow rate through cooling holes, completion of associated quality control activities, and reporting of results within the scope of the laboratory
- Assessment is carried out using a variety of specially-designed rigs
- Duties may also include application of problem-solving to resolve practical issues associated with component geometries and rig design
- Role is based within a client team who are responsible for managing workloads and assigning tasks
- Collaborating directly with the client and alongside fellow Intertek employees within a small, supportive team
