Purpose: Are you an engineer who loves solving problems, improving processes, and turning data into results?
IPG is looking for a Process Engineer to lead impactful projects that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.
You'll work directly with operations teams to identify opportunities, implement innovative solutions, and drive measurable improvements across the business.
- Principle Accountabilities
- Develop and conduct employee training sessions as needed for new equipment and processes.
- Develops and implements production methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost- efficient manner.
- Recommend equipment and processes for manufacture of new products.
- Investigate and provide remedies for manufacturing process problems.
- As required, establish working relationships with outside personnel to meet project objectives.
- Knowledgeable of current products, processes, equipment, and procedures to apply to design and equipment analysis.
- Maintain detailed records and orderly files on all assigned projects.
- Evaluate equipment problems and design requirements of new or modified equipment.
- Evaluate environmental compliance projects as they relate to the process function.
- Issue periodic status reports.
- Coach operating personnel to reduce waste generation.
- Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems.
- Reviews proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernization of existing production/processing equipment.
- Develop, implement and communicate work instructions, procedures and other documentation as necessary to support work responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
- 3-5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Solid data analytic skills.
- Strong interest and support of continuous improvement processes and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- High level of computer literacy, specifically MS Office.
- Understanding of plastics chemistry and extrusion process.
- Recommended experience with advanced analytics, AI, machine learning, IIOT or advanced process control.
- Recommended knowledge in the Toyota Production System
- Recommended Six Sigma certification or experience.
- Experience in sustainable practices such as zero landfill or C2C.
