Group Responsibilities - Deployment
- Collaborate with co-location partners to design cage, rack, and server layouts and ensure sufficient space, power, and cooling for current and future needs.
- Lead or support server, network, and hosting equipment deployment, including hands-on builds and configuration when needed.
- Work with stakeholders to secure pre-operational sign-offs and ensure solutions meet performance requirements such as security, availability, and response times.
- Assist in troubleshooting integration issues.
Group Responsibilities - Operations
- Manage and maintain hosted infrastructure (servers, storage, backups), including proactive issue prevention and backup oversight.
- Define, document, and improve operational processes, including ITIL-based incident, change, problem, and configuration management, and ensure alignment with wider company workflows.
- Provide technical support for hosted services, participate in a 24Γ7 on-call rotation, resolve incidents promptly, and deploy approved changes and updates.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with server hosting (e.g. data center) infrastructure, ideally Cisco UCS, Dell servers and Dell storage technologies.
- Hands-on storage/SAN and backup experience ideally one of Dell Data Domain, Dell backup software, Veeam and/or Rubrik.
- Strong Windows skills, especially Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Hands-on VMware deployment and management experience with VMware.
- Hands-on Linux deployment and management experience with RHEL 8 or newer.
Desirable
- Strong understanding of the principles of IT security, including ISO27001.
- Knowledge of configuration management (Puppet and/or Red Hat Satellite preferred).
- Scripting for automation technologies (e.g. Powershell, Puppet, Ansible, Python).
- ITIL knowledge - principles and application.
