This is a highly visible sales position with autonomy. You’ll be the front-facing ambassador for Mercure Brighton, spending your time building relationships, creating opportunities and ensuring the hotel is on the radar of local businesses, partners and agencies. You’ll also work closely with the team at Mercure Inverness, sharing market insight, driving account production and supporting initiatives to maintain momentum during quieter shoulder months. Both hotels benefit from strong seasonal demand, and your focus will be on turning local relationships into consistent, year-round business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Your days will be spent connecting with the local Brighton market, networking, prospecting and identifying opportunities that translate into tangible business for the hotel.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of corporate, group and MICE accounts, negotiating with confidence and always keeping commercial performance front of mind.
- Act as a sales lead to Mercure Inverness, working collaboratively with the on-site operations team to grow accounts, activate new opportunities and bring fresh energy to quieter trading periods.
- Drive success through curiosity, persistence and the ability to spot opportunity where others may not.
Experience and Skills

We’re now looking for a Cluster Sales Manager to play a central role in growing commercial performance across both hotels.
Based in Brighton, with periodic trips to Inverness, this role combines hands-on local sales activity with collaborative, strategic support for our Inverness team. It’s ideal for someone who loves being out in the market, builds relationships naturally and understands how to stimulate demand beyond the peak season.
Location and Facilities
With incredible seafront views, the 4-star Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel is a grand Victorian landmark with period features, including stuccoes Regency frontage, original mirrors, chandeliers and a high-ceilinged ballroom for celebrations. The Coast View Suite provides a sea-view backdrop for weddings and private events; the Bandstand opposite the hotel can be booked for weddings.
