Overview
As a Night Porter you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of hotel guests, staff, and the hotel at night. You will also assist with early morning breakfast preparation, liaise with guests and residents, and resolve problems in a courteous and professional manner. Your role extends beyond the front desk and supports operations in food and beverage, maintenance, and other areas requiring excellent customer service and teamwork. This role offers development opportunities across all departments and aims to ensure guests have a first-class, enjoyable and comfortable stay.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safety and security of guests, staff, and property during night hours, including conducting regular security and fire safety checks.
- Assist with breakfast preparation for 6:00 am.
- Liaise with guests and residents, addressing problems and resolving complaints professionally.
- Support night-time operations across departments (food and beverage, maintenance, and others) with a focus on first-class customer service and teamwork.
- Adapt to a role that involves cross-functional support and developing in a multi-department hotel environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to keep areas clean and presentable.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with guests and staff and report issues to the appropriate authorities when needed.
- Customer service orientation with an approachable, friendly manner and the ability to handle guest requests or complaints.
- Ability to work overnight shifts including late-night and early-morning hours.
- Must be aged 18 or above and comfortable with night-shift working patterns and commuting to and from the hotel.
