Job Description for the Role of Associate – Civils\\n\\nReporting to: Team Leader\\n\\nExperience Required: 8+years minimum in buildings and related infrastructure and master-planning.\\n\\nHighways related experience beneficial. Chartered Engineer.\\n\\nGeneral Responsibilities:\\n\\n• Provide leadership to the Civil Engineering team\\n\\n• Promoting learning from successes and problems within the group and across the firm\\n\\n• The development and/or implementation of plans for the longer term benefit to the office/group,\\n\\nbusiness/firm\\n\\n• Setting and meeting agreed budgets\\n\\n• Financial performance in specified areas. (e.g.
healthy profit / cash flow)\\n\\n• Accountable for meeting agreed deadlines\\n\\n• Represents the company/the group/ office/discipline at internal and external meetings\\n\\n• Responsible and accountable for client/customer relations\\n\\n• Executes responsibilities as outlined in the firm’s Management System\\n\\nDiscipline Responsibilities:\\n\\n• Drainage design to schemes in an Urban or Greenfield setting including sustainable urban drainage\\n\\nand hydraulic modelling.\\n\\n• Expert knowledge of Section 102 and 104 adoptions, 106 connection application and 185\\n\\ndiversion works.\\n\\n• Negotiating with Statutory bodies including The Environment Agency on hydraulic matters\\n\\npertaining to the development.\\n\\n• Detailed experience in compiling Code for Sustainable Homes, Breeam and CEEQUAL code\\n\\nassessments.\\n\\n• An in depth knowledge of:\\n\\no Sewers for Adoption 8th edition (SFA8th)\\n\\no NPPF (Planning Policy)\\n\\no SuDS Manual\\n\\no Approved Document H\\n\\n• Highway infrastructure design and adoption with particular attention to levels and drainage.\\n\\n• Negotiating with the Council Highway agencies on highway issues pertaining to the development.\\n\\n• An in depth knowledge of:\\n\\no Section 38 adoption and 278 works.\\n\\no Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB)\\n\\no BS 7533\\n\\no Road markings and Signage\\n\\n• Direct and supervise other Designers/Drafters activities as required\\n\\n• Experience with using Micro-Drainage, AutoCAD Civils 3D, AutoCAD.\\n\\n• Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment for simulation purposes\\n\\nand to prepare engineering design documents\\n\\n• Provide drawing for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by\\n\\nDesigners/Drafters\\n\\n• Undertake liaison and coordination with other designers, including architects, and other engineers\\n\\nto agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic and concept of the construction\\n\\n• Undertake liaison with construction contractors to maintain the principles of the design in the\\n\\nworks that are carried out\\n\\n• Demonstrate capability and experience in managing and performing projects in a fast paced\\n\\nenvironment
