A leading civil engineering contractor is looking for a Commercial /Contract Administrator to join their team. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Commercial Administrator or Graduate Quantity Surveyor to gain excellent hands-on training with a leading tier-one contractor on a prestigious major infrastructure project in Suffolk. This is a hybrid working opportunity with the successful candidate required to work three days per week on site. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress a career as a Quantity Surveyor whilst gaining experience across procurement, risk & change management.
The Role
The primary function of the Commercial Administrator will be to support with administrative duties ranging from processing data on the database to producing weekly and monthly reports on specific projects. Other responsibilities will include:
- Sub-contractor applications and certification
- Assisting in preparing client applications, including meeting deadlines
- Processing supplier invoices for payment
- Assisting in weekly/Monthly reporting
- Dealing with client commercial queries
- Generating payment runs for subcontractors
Experience Required
Suitable candidates will have ideally worked as a Commercial Administrator or Trainee Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector and will be able to demonstrate:
- Commercial Administration experience
- Strong communication skills
- Great organisational skills and a detail-oriented, accurate approach
- Excellent numeracy and IT skills, including an excellent working knowledge of Excel and Word
