As part of its continued growth and a strong pipeline of successful tenders, a major construction contractor is seeking to appoint an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team, working on high-profile civil engineering projects. You will become one of four Managing Quantity Surveyors reporting directly to the Commercial Director, with genuine opportunities to progress into a Commercial Manager position as the business continues to expand.

The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will lead commercial activities on civil engineering projects valued between £10m and £50m. Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and mentoring Quantity Surveying teams
- Full post-contract commercial management
- Subcontract procurement and management
- Cost, value, and change reporting
- Managing compensation events and contractual change
- Attending and leading client meetings
- Supporting commercial strategy and project delivery
- Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements
Requirements
To be considered for this Managing Quantity Surveyor role, you should have:
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor on projects valued at £10m+
- Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
- Experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, highways, rail, or earthworks projects
- Excellent commercial management and stakeholder engagement skills
