Job Description \nSenior Quantity Surveyor - Water & Utilities\n \nLocation: Brighton\n \nSalary: £60K- dependent on experience\n \nJob Type: Permanent\n \nSector: Water, Utilities, Civil Engineering & Infrastructure\n \nThe Opportunity\n \nDue to being awarded a significant work bank on a major water framework in the South East, a Tier 1 civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a Developer Services Contract.\n \nThe Senior Quantity Surveyor will take commercial responsibility for a programme of works, working as part of an established commercial team and alongside Project Managers and operational teams.\n \nThis is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for long-term local work within the water and utilities sector, which is expected to see significant investment and continued growth over the next five years.\n \nThe role offers hybrid working.\n \nThe Role\n \nReporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will join a wider commercial team of eight and take responsibility for the commercial management of your programme of works.\n \nThe framework is administered under NEC contract conditions.\n \nKey responsibilities will include:\n \n \n \n Commercial management of a programme of water and utilities works \n Cost forecasting and financial reporting \n Value engineering and cost optimisation \n Subcontract procurement and management \n Drafting and negotiating complex subcontract arrangements, including professional services and appropriate terms of engagement \n Change management and commercial risk management \n Client management and maintaining strong client relationships \n Supporting the production and delivery of margin improvement plans \n Maximising cash flow and effective WIP management \n Agreeing and closing final accounts \n Supporting work-winning activities where required \n Contributing to PQQ responses and technical/commercial submissions \n Working closely with Project Managers, operational teams and the wider commercial function \n \n Experience Required \n \nThe successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will ideally have:\n \nA BSc or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying\n \nProven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor\n \nExperience working within the building, construction or civils sector\n \nStrong knowledge and practical experience of JCT or NEC contracts\n \nExperience managing the commercial delivery of programmes or projects\n \nStrong subcontract procurement and commercial management experience\n \nA stable career history and a genuine interest in long-term career development\n \nExperience within the water and utilities sector would be highly advantageous, particularly Developer Services or similar frameworks.\n \nThis opportunity would suit a commercially strong SQuantity Surveyor who is looking to join an established Tier 1 contractor and develop their career within the growing UK water and infrastructure market.\n What's on Offer? \n \n \n Permanent position with a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor \n Long-term work secured through a major water framework \n Local South East projects \n Significant pipeline of work \n Strong career progression opportunities \n Opportunity to work on major water and infrastructure programmes \n Exposure to NEC contracts and complex commercial arrangements \n Excellent long-term prospects within the expanding water and utilities sector \n This role is available immediately. \n \n \nIntersect Global is an equal opportunity employer.
