A major joint venture delivering a multi-year AMP8 capital delivery programme is looking to appoint a Strategic Proposals Lead to join their growing Customer Solutions team. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving the front-end development of technical and commercial solutions for a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater treatment schemes.
With a five-year framework value of up to £1bn, this role offers the opportunity to shape critical projects across the South and Southeast. The Strategic Proposals Lead will work closely with bid, estimating, and project teams to ensure robust, innovative, and cost-effective solutions are developed in line with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the Strategic Proposals Lead for major water and wastewater projects, coordinating multidisciplinary inputs into bid strategies and solutions.
- Oversee the development of compelling, compliant proposals aligned with technical and commercial requirements.
- Lead reviews of client enquiry documentation, identify scope gaps and risks, and support mitigation planning.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders, ensuring consistent communication and alignment across teams.
- Provide leadership and governance input, supporting the estimating and bid management functions to deliver high-quality submissions.
- Proven experience in the UK water/wastewater sector or other regulated, process-driven industries.
- Demonstrable track record as a Strategic Proposals Lead or in a similar bid-focused engineering or commercial leadership role.
- In-depth understanding of NEC contracts and infrastructure solution development.
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Degree-qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaborative bid platforms.
- APM or equivalent project management qualification.
- Previous experience acting as a Strategic Proposals Lead on AMP or water sector frameworks.
- National Water Hygiene card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
