A leading construction consultancy specialising in commercial disputes has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantum Consultant to join their team in Central London. The role will appeal to a Senior Quantity Surveyor interested in pursuing a career in claims and dispute management. The company will support professional qualifications such as an MSc Construction Law / RICS Expert Witness. The successful candidate will gain valuable claims, disputes and arbitration experience on high-profile landmark projects. This is a hybrid working role with two to three days per week expected in the London office.
The Role
Working as part of an experienced team the Senior Quantity Surveyor will support with claims and disputes for a range of construction main contractors on major projects across the UK and internationally. Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the analysis and assessment of claims and counterclaims
- Analysis of large quantities of supporting data and quickly understanding relevant key areas
- Use Excel and other software to carry out an analysis of relevant quantum data
- Provide specialist expert advice
- Assisting the lead consultant with writing expert reports
Experience Required
Suitable Senior Quantity Surveyors will be educated to degree level and will ideally have or be working towards CIARB or RICS Accreditation qualifications. Quantity Surveyors applying will have gained exposure to claims or disputes and will be able to demonstrate experience working for a main contractor within the construction sector, ideally working on major projects. A thorough understanding of NEC contracts is essential. You will be a self-starter with a proactive approach and first-class communication skills.
