Due to continued growth, a leading construction consultancy that provides cost management and dispute resolution services is seeking to recruit a number of Quantum Consultants to complement their team in Central London.
The Quantum Consultant will be responsible for supporting clients with effective and accurate contractual and claims advice, based on detailed and thorough analysis of project information in accordance with contractual entitlement. The Quantum Consultant will be required to work both as part of a team and autonomously on a variety of commissions.
This presents an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with a strong interest in gaining claims and dispute resolution experience to join a growing business and to be part of a friendly team that offers support as well as ongoing mentoring. This is a hybrid working role.
The Role
Reporting to an Associate Director, responsibilities will include:
- Providing high calibre claims consultancy and/or expert witness services on a variety of construction claims
- Providing technical and contractual advice
- Preparation of final accounts to adjudication standard
- Calculations of damages incurred due to delays/breach of contracts
- Representing or defending in formal proceedings including adjudication and mediation
- Taking personal responsibility for delivering commissions independently within timelines and of the highest standard
Experience Required
Suitable applicants will be educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying or Construction Law and will be able to demonstrate no less than five years of Quantity Surveying experience. Suitable Quantity Surveyors will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience in procurement management strategy and contract administration
- Extensive knowledge of the standard form of contracts comprising the NEC, JCT
- Experience in the development of claim and dispute resolution strategies
- First class communication and presentation skills
- Flexible approach with the ability to work on multiple assignments
