An established and highly respected consultancy that has enjoyed 25% growth annually is seeking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to complement their team. As the business continues with its planned expansion, this presents a genuine opportunity to progress to the Director level and achieve equity shares. The company works across the rail, water and highways sectors and delivers projects ranging from £10M-£80M each.

Projects are Brighton-based, flexible working is on offer with 2-3 days per week allowed to work from home, as is support towards achieving Chartered status.

The Role
  • Providing reports to the client's senior management on the costs associated with a wide variety of projects, which are being cost-managed by their team.
  • Advising and approving cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
  • Establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
  • Performing risk and value management and cost control.
  • Advising on procurement strategy.
  • Managing and advising on the tendering process, including checking and approving tender and contract documents.
  • Ensuring the preparation of monthly cost/profit forecasts is carried out.
  • Providing advice and support to the team when agreeing with the contractor, suitable subcontractors to work on projects.
  • Advising and providing support to the Claims Manager on potential contractual claims.
  • Maintaining knowledge of various construction contracts.
Experience Required
  • Suitable applicants will be educated in BSc or MSc Quantity Surveying and will be able to demonstrate a stable career history working for a client or main recognised contractor on civil engineering projects.
  • A good understanding of NEC contracts is essential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.
