A major joint venture delivering a flagship £1bn AMP8 capital works programme for Southern Water is looking to appoint a senior-level Project Director to lead the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of water and wastewater projects across the South and Southeast.
This role sits within the senior leadership team of a long-term framework and is responsible for developing collaborative relationships, delivering commercial and operational performance, and ensuring best-in-class health, safety, and environmental outcomes.
The Project Director will provide strategic oversight and operational leadership across all stages of project lifecycle from design and procurement through to commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the Project Director overseeing the successful delivery of major civil and M&E projects across the Southern Water framework
- Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and high performance across all delivery teams
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Southern Water and JV partners
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with commercial targets, quality benchmarks, and regulatory compliance
- Provide leadership and direction to multidisciplinary teams, embedding continuous improvement and innovation
- Proven experience as a Project Director or equivalent leadership role in infrastructure or regulated utilities
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Background in delivering large-scale frameworks or complex, multi-disciplinary programmes
- Must have a technical background
- Solid understanding of CDM regulations, NEC contracts, and construction risk management
- Must have worked on projects of at least £50 million pounds
- Degree or HND in a relevant engineering or construction discipline
- APM, NEC PM Accreditation, or similar qualification desirable
- Full UK Driving Licence required
