A privately owned regional civil engineering firm is seeking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Hampshire. The company delivers a diverse portfolio of projects, including coastal defence works, port and harbour regeneration, river management schemes and public realm developments. Project values typically range from £500k to £15m, working with clients such as local authorities, the Environment Agency and private developers.
As the business continues its steady, organic growth, there is a clear path for progression, with the potential to advance to Commercial Manager within the next five years. This is a hybrid working position, with an expectation of three days per week spent on site or in the office.
The Role
- Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, key responsibilities include:
- Collecting, reviewing and analysing site data, and maintaining accurate cost records
- Managing subcontract procurement and change control
- Preparing early warnings and compensation events, and agreeing on these with the client
- Completing monthly cost and value reconciliations
- Forecasting costs throughout the project lifecycle
- Preparing monthly valuations and agreeing these with the client through to the final account
Experience Required
- Degree (BSc) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Minimum of five years post-graduate experience within civil engineering
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (highly desirable)
