We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, strategic and personable Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our clients commercial team. This role is integral to the successful commercial delivery of projects and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing organisation. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, with the ability to make sound commercial decisions informed by experience, data intelligence, and a high level of attention to detail. You will be confident in prioritising workload in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of subcontractors and subcontractor accounts
- Supporting the Commercial Manager and leading elements of the commercial team
- Managing client disputes and supporting internal auditing processes
- Maintaining and updating the commercial risk register
- Overseeing weekly valuations and confirming accuracy of measurements
- Cost analysis and driving cost reduction initiatives
- Contract and rates review
- Production of CVRs across projects
About You:
- An experienced Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor with strong commercial awareness and problem-solving capability
- Confident, influential communicator with the ability to clearly land messages at all levels
- Proven experience delivering projects under NEC contracts
- Strong subcontract management experience
- Background within utilities and/or civil engineering
- A track record of mentoring and developing junior team members is desirable
- Hold a UK driving licence
- Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, or substantial experience in a similar role
