Intersect Global is recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier One contractor for an experienced Subcontract Procurement Manager to join a high-performing procurement team supporting major infrastructure, utilities, and construction projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Procurement Manager, Subcontract Manager, or Senior Buyer looking to progress their career within a market-leading organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering procurement strategy, managing subcontract procurement activities, negotiating commercial agreements, and driving value across a significant project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end subcontract procurement activities, including sourcing, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
- Manage NEC3 and NEC4 subcontract procurement processes.
- Deliver cost savings, value engineering opportunities, and procurement efficiencies.
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier and subcontractor relationships.
- Conduct commercial evaluations and tender assessments.
- Work closely with Commercial, Operations, and Project teams to support successful project delivery.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain, commercial, and contractual risks.
- Support procurement governance, compliance, ESG, and sustainable procurement objectives.
- Proven experience in subcontract procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management within construction, infrastructure, engineering, utilities, rail, water, highways, energy, or major projects environments.
- Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
- Experience managing competitive tenders, negotiations, and subcontract awards.
- Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and supplier relationship management capabilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Desirable MCIPS, CIPS, or equivalent procurement qualification.
- Experience working for a Tier One contractor, principal contractor, or major infrastructure organisation.
- Degree qualified in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
