The Role
As CAD Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the CAD function, ensuring the team delivers accurate, high-quality design outputs that meet project timescales and client standards. You'll be a key point of contact between design teams, engineers, and project management, helping to maintain consistency and quality across all CAD deliverables.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and mentoring a team of CAD technicians and designers
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining CAD standards, templates, and protocols
- Overseeing quality control and version control across all drawings and models
- Coordinating closely with design leads, engineers, and project managers to ensure smooth workflows
- Managing production schedules and ensuring deadlines are met
- Supporting BIM/CAD integration and ensuring compliance with ISO 19650 and other relevant standards
- Troubleshooting technical CAD issues and providing training and support across the wider team
- Liaising with the client and external stakeholders on CAD-related matters as required
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience working as a CAD Manager or in a senior CAD leadership role
- Highways experience is essential, ideally on major infrastructure or roads schemes
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation
- Solid understanding of BIM processes and standards (ISO 19650)
- Experience managing and developing a CAD team
