As a Project Manager your role will include but not be limited to the following:
- Update contract programme weekly with project planner, highlighting delays and potential claims to the commercial team.
- Integrate subcontractor work.
- Plan upcoming work, procure subcontractors, and place orders for long lead in materials.
- Chair weekly site meetings to ensure your site team (Site Manager/Foreman, Site Engineer) understand what is to be done by when and what can be improved upon and learned from.
- Monitor and report on financial performance. Highlight commercial risks, and develop solutions to maximize profit.
- Raise Early Warnings, and attend risk reduction meetings.
- Assist the commercial team to produce compensation events.
- Use information provided by your site engineer to communicate technical queries and resolve design issues in a timely manner.
- Produce project management documents including Construction Phase Plan, Waste Management Plan, and contribute to the Materials Management Plan.
- Ensure compliance with environmental mitigation measures and controls.
- Compile information to be included into the Health & Safety file.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and ensure sites are producing their plant and material returns to the office as required.
- Local recruitment of necessary labour resources.
- Manage your team and delegate suitable responsibilities to team members.
- Share knowledge and training as required.
- Promote effective inter-team working across all functional departments i.e. Commercial, Finance, Plant, Procurement, Technical, and Estimating.
- Monitor the morale and motivation of the team.
- Communicate the company objectives and maintain regular information sharing relevant to the team.
- Promote a culture of openness and honesty.
- Maintain regular 1-2-1s with your reporting staff discussing and agreeing personal objectives, learning needs, and goals.
- Monitor performance standards and manage expectations.
- Provide information for Monthly report.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and explore opportunities for future works.
