A leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join its growing Energy Division, supporting major infrastructure and utilities projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to develop within a well-established business offering clear progression to Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

Role Overview

Working within an experienced commercial team, you will support the delivery of civil engineering and energy infrastructure projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract compliance, and commercial reporting under NEC contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support commercial management across civil engineering and energy projects
  • Prepare and manage subcontract packages and procurement
  • Measure, value, and assess subcontractor applications and payments
  • Monitor costs, variations, and change control processes
  • Assist with applications for payment and final accounts
  • Provide commercial support to site and project teams
  • Contribute to cost forecasting and commercial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with NEC forms of contract

Requirements

  • HNC / Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • 2-6 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience in civil engineering, energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3 / NEC4 preferred)
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Experience working with a main contractor or subcontractor
