A leading specialist civil engineering contractor, operating across Kent and Sussex on long-term civil engineering and MEICA frameworks, is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, based in Dartford. This project-level role acts as the key link between operations and commercial, covering small to intermediate work packages, with genuine scope to progress within the wider commercial function.
Hybrid working, with 12 days per week in the Dartford office.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer NEC3 contracts, Options A and C, including the PSC
- Prepare and issue Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Events (CEs) to supply chain and clients
- Manage and value variations and Compensation Events
- Monitor change control and maintain contract documentation at project level
- Attend weekly and monthly commercial meetings
- Liaise with project programmer(s) on progress and change
- Oversee supply chain negotiation and let packages of work
- Prepare and submit monthly valuations, final accounts and project tenders
- Maintain pre-, during- and post-contract liaison with clients and supply chain
- Build lasting relationships with client representatives and supply chain contacts
About You
- BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent), with a minimum of 5 years' experience in an NEC contract environment
- Strong understanding of both pre-contract and post-contract processes
- Proficient working knowledge of NEC3 main and subcontract forms (essential)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident Excel user pivot tables, lookups, sheet automation
- Suitable for a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant QS ready to step up into a senior role
Package: £75,000 + Package (car/allowance, pension, and other benefits detail as applicable)
