We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering major water, wastewater, utilities and MEICA projects across the UK. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Senior QS / Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to take ownership of commercially complex infrastructure schemes, working on long-term secured frameworks with clear progression into senior commercial leadership roles.
The Role
- You will take full commercial responsibility for water and utilities projects from award through to final account, ensuring robust cost control, contract compliance, and strong financial performance.
- Working closely with operational teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers, you will support successful project delivery across multiple schemes while managing risk, change and commercial strategy.
- Lead commercial management and cost control across infrastructure projects.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, accounts, variations and final accounts.
- Produce CVRs, cost reports, forecasts and cash flow analysis.
- Administer change control, compensation events and variations under NEC3 / NEC4.
- Monitor budgets, risk and commercial performance.
- Provide commercial support to operational and project teams.
- Lead client and subcontractor commercial meetings.
- Mentor junior Quantity Surveyors and support team development.
- Oversee commercial close-out and final account agreement.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior QS / Project QS / Commercial Manager.
- Strong background in water, utilities, infrastructure, civil engineering or construction.
- Solid NEC3 / NEC4 contract experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline preferred.
