Job Description
Senior Quantity Surveyor Highways & Infrastructure An established highways and infrastructure contractor operating across London is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, covering the North and East London borders.
This role involves working on a diverse portfolio of highway maintenance and improvement schemes with an annual value of approximately £15 million.
The company forms part of a larger infrastructure group delivering major projects across the UK.
Following significant organic growth over the past three years, they have developed a strong and stable commercial team responsible for delivering long-term highway maintenance contracts across the capital.
This is a hybrid working role.
Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Commercial Manager, your responsibilities will include: Carrying out on-site measurements.
Verifying subcontractor requisitions.
Managing subcontract accounts, including payment applications.
Providing commercial support and guidance to site teams.
Maintaining accurate records and preparing monthly cost and value reports.
Supporting the preparation, authorisation, and submission of project variations.
Authorising contracts, subcontracts, and material and plant orders.
Maximising cash flow through effective measurement, valuation, invoicing, and supplier payment management.
Valuing subcontractor works and certifying interim and final payments.
Candidate Requirements The successful candidate will ideally hold an HNC or BSc in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
You should also be able to demonstrate: A strong working knowledge of NEC or ICC contracts.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
A proven track record of successfully delivering commercial outcomes on highways, infrastructure, highways maintenance, or utilities projects.
Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
This opportunity is available immediately and is offered outside IR35.
