A tier one international civil engineering firm are seeking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to complement their team in the South East. The company carry out a variety of projects including coastal defence, port & harbour regeneration and development, river management and public realm schemes. Projects range from £500K - £17M in value and clients include local authorities, the environment agency as well as private developers. Current schemes are spread across Kent, Sussex and Hampshire, forthcoming schemes are based in Kent and East Sussex, with a hybrid working arrangement on offer. The business is growing organically and with this growth comes the opportunity for career progression.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, responsibilities will include assisting with:
- Collection, review and analysis of site data and maintaining cost records
- Subcontract procurement & change management
- Completion of early warnings, compensation events and their agreement with the client
- Carry out monthly Cost & Value reconciliations
- Forecasting cost throughout project life cycle
- Preparation of monthly project valuations and agreement with the client through to the final account
Experience Required
Suitable candidates will be educated to BSc Quantity Surveying (or working towards) equivalent and be able to demonstrate experience working on civil engineering projects. A working knowledge of NEC contracts is highly desirable.
