Senior Quantity SurveyorCivil Engineering | Earthworks | Enabling Works | NEC ContractsLocation: Suffolk (Hybrid Working -3 Days on Site)Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits + Career ProgressionSenior Quantity Surveyor Earthworks & Enabling Works Due to the award of a major long-term infrastructure project, a leading UK Civil Engineering Contractor with an annual turnover exceeding £500 million is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team in Suffolk.This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected contractor at the start of a flagship infrastructure project, taking commercial responsibility for a significant earthworks and enabling works package valued at approximately £20 million .Operating across the civil engineering and the energy sectors, the business continues to experience sustained growth, with a strong pipeline of major projects secured for the coming years.This role offers genuine long-term career prospects, with a clear pathway into Commercial Management for ambitious Quantity Surveyors looking to progress their careers.Hybrid working is available, with approximately 23 days per week on site.The Role Reporting to the Commercial Lead, the successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial responsibility for a circa £20 million earthworks and enabling works package , managing the project through procurement, delivery and final account.Working under NEC contracts, you will play a key role in ensuring commercial success while supporting the operational team and mentoring junior members of the commercial department.Key Responsibilities Lead the commercial management of a £20 million earthworks and enabling works contract.Manage subcontract procurement, tender evaluations and contract awards.Prepare, monitor and present Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports.Monitor project costs, forecasts, cash flow and commercial performance.Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.Prepare, negotiate and agree compensation events, variations and final accounts.Manage subcontractor accounts, applications and payments.Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.Work closely with Project Managers to ensure commercial and operational objectives are achieved.Support and mentor Assistant Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors.Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline.Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within Civil Engineering, Earthworks, Highways, Infrastructure, Utilities or Energy projects.Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.Experience managing subcontractors and producing accurate CVR reporting.Full UK driving licence.What's on Offer Opportunity to join one of the UK's leading Civil Engineering Contractors.Commercial responsibility for a high-profile £20 million earthworks and enabling works package .Long-term secured workload across major infrastructure and energy projects.Hybrid working (23 days on site).Excellent career progression into Commercial Management.Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.If you are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to play a key role in delivering major civil engineering projects while developing your career with a leading contractor, we'd love to hear from you.We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where diversity is valued, respected and encouraged.
